WHO WAS THE BEST NATION PRODUCED FOR MANKIND AS STATED IN QURAN

كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّـهِ

translation “You were the best nation produced for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah”—–

Sheikh “Muhammad Abduh”(1849-1905) the grand Egyptian & most Islamic countries edict/ Mufti in his time wrote on this verse saying that this describes those who were first addressed in the verses preceding this verse & those are the Prophet (saws) with his companions Q3;103  & transcends to any other nation/people doing the same of enjoining the right & forbidding the wrong

وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّـهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا ۚ وَاذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّـهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنتُمْ أَعْدَاءً فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم بِنِعْمَتِهِ إِخْوَانًا

translation “And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you – when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers”—-

The sheikh says that that this gives an example showing that the enjoining of right & forbidding wrong & believing in Allah & having good relations with each other is what makes the nation a good nation
